  1. I always expect a challenging puzzle from Stella, and this one didn’t disappoint. If anyone can shed light on 3D (“Result of proof”, with solution RISE), please feel free to explain.

    1. In breadbaking, proofing the dough is the act of letting the yeast do its thing to ferment and create a RISE in the dough. Which I know not AT ALL from experience. I just binge-watch Great British Bake-Off. A lot.

  2. Thanks Stella. Guess I should have done a more thorough check of various dictionaries. Merriam-Webster and the American Heritage Dictionary have the baking-related definition for “proof” (though as a verb), but the OED also has it defined as a noun: “The aeration of dough by a raising agent before baking”.
